SH Architecture
SH Architecture specializes in the sustainable and modern, so it was a natural fit for me. Their existing site was Flash-based which seemed to contradict their client-centered approach. They needed a site that was more approachable and interactive in way that did not involve just animations, but was not a huge departure from the look of the Flash-based site. With a firm grasp of how they wanted the new site to look, it was up to me to decide the best implementation of that design.
Many of the team members have active Twitter accounts and they regularly upload progress videos to YouTube. They also create a monthly newsletter in-house that is very well designed. It seemed obvious that the new site should take advantage of this. An integrated “News” section was introduced that would carry all of their press releases, newsletters, and project updates.
In addition, they had a large portfolio of projects separated into a fair number of categories, making navigation a challenge. Rather than struggling with a complicated system, sub-system, and sub-sub-system of drop-down menus, a simple breadcrumb style of navigation is used to navigate through the portfolio.
